April 15, 2019
Hello LAC Families, we will have more information in our upcoming newsletter, but I wanted to share some highlights from Far Westerns with you:
At the recent Far Western Championships, LAC had some fantastic performances. In a meet when most of our athletes were unshaved and only had a couple days of rest, the swims were exceedingly great. Here are some best time highlights:
Taber da Costa- best time 200 free
Jack Davis- best time 100 back
Maddie Gomez- best times and new Sectionals in 100 back and 100 fly
Jacques Grove- best times 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 back, 400 IM
Bryson Huey- best times in 100 back and new best time and Futures time in 50 free
Minh-nha Kawamura- best time 200 back, 100 free
Ashlynn Kirk- best time 100 back
Tyler Laymon- best times in 200 free, 200 breast, 200 IM, 500 free, 100 back 100 breast
Ryan Martinez- best time 200 free
Maggie Robinson- best times in 200 IM, 100 breast
Sophia Yu- best times in 50 back, 50 fly, 100 back, and 200 fly
We also had several athletes like Natalie Urban, Katie Ottman, Melinda Davis, and Nick Gregory who had best unshaved times. We are looking foward to awesome EBAL and PLS LC meets. One of our goals is to have more people qualify for NCS than ever before.
Also this past weekend LAC athlete Brandon Fischer broke the Pacific Swimming 30-34 Master's record in the 100 breast! Way to go Brandon!
Finally, thank you to Michelle Kleman and all of the other LAC parents who helped organize our great Bowling Fundraiser. It was awesome to see so many of you there!
