Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club Opens Their Track & Field Season

The 11-12 Girls 4x100m Relay team of Grace Gloster, Alexis Ray, Isabella Alvarez-Gomez and De'Janna Mathis started off the season very well with a new team record!
 

Thirty-One athletes from the Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club were among more than 800 athletes who competed at the NJ Striders season-opening track & field meet on April 14 at Hackensack High School.

Top finishers were:
Annabella Giudice – 9-10 Girls – Long Jump 1st place
Diya Jain – 9-10 Girls – 1500m Race Walk 1st place
Reean Dias – 9-10 Boys – 1500m Run 1st place
Douglas Gee – 11-12 Boys – 1500m Race Walk 1st place
Victoria Gee – 13-14 Girls – 100m Hurdles 1st place, 1500m Race Walk 2nd place
Sydney Kessler – 9-10 Girls – Long Jump 3rd place
Alex Kessler – 9-10 Boys – Long Jump 3rd place, 100m Dash 6th place
De'Janna Mathis – 11-12 Girls – Long Jump 3rd place
Elizabeth Koizumi – 13-14 Girls – 1500m Race Walk – 3rd place
Colin Brennan – 11-12 Boys – 100m Dash 4th place, Long Jump 4th place, Javelin 5th place
Chloe Salfred-Ingham – 13-14 Girls – 100m Hurdles 4th place
Alexis Ray – 11-12 Girls – 100m Dash 5th place

The 11-12 Girls 4x100m Relay team of Isabella Alvarez-Gomez, De'Janna Mathis, Alexis Ray, and Grace Gloster started off the season very well with a new team record!

The Westfield Area Y Flyers Track Club is a USATF-certified club that serves over 700 athletes throughout the year. The Club has cross country, winter conditioning, and spring and summer track & field programs.
