Cumby & Williams Qualify For 2020 Olympic Trials

Congratuations to 18-year old Noah Cumby and 16-year old Kate Williams who became SJL's first two 2020 Olympic Trials qualifiers with performances at the 2019 Canadian Swimming Trials in Toronto earlier this month.

Cumby qualified in the 100FR with a time of 51.25.  Cumby represents the Legends domestically as he trains and go to school at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas on a swimming scholarship.

Williams qualified in the 200BK with a time of 2:22.20.  Williams is currently a grade 10 student at Gonzaga and is the Provincial Record holder in the 200BK.

The 2020 Canadian Olympic Trials will take place March 30 - April 5th in Toronto.  The St. John's Legends did not send a swimmer to the 2016 Olympic Trials so to have two qualifiers ealry in the qualification window is a fantastic accomplishment and we will look to add qualifiers in the coming year.

Congratulations Noah and Kate!!
