PIKE's KYLIE SMITH WINS MCCGSA SCHOLAR ATHLETE AWARD

I would like to give Kylie Smith (Pike High School & Pike Township Swim Club) a HUGE shout out for this amazing accomplishment! Please take the time to read the statment from the Pike Athletic Department below.

Each year, the Marion County Coaches of Girls’ Sports Association (MCCGSA) honors one female student athlete from each school in the City/County Alliance.

Nominations are based on scholastic achievement and academic excellence. Last night, the MCCGSA honored all of the nominees from the 27 schools in the City/County Alliance.

The MCCGSA board selected one student athlete to be honored as the Most Outstanding Athlete and one student to be honored as the Most Outstanding Scholar Athlete.

I am proud to announce that Pike’s nominee – KYLIE SMITH – was selected as the overall winner for the Most Outstanding County Scholar Athlete.  This is a HUGE accomplishment!

Special thanks to Coach Tom Moore and Alise Berty for helping us compile the information for the nomination.  Below is what was read from the program at the banquet last night.  Please spread the word!
