LCSC Coho Update May 6, 2019

LCSC Coho Update              6 May 2019

Thank you, Coho Board of Directors Volunteers!
Tonight at 6:00 p.m., the annual LCSC General Membership Meeting is being held at the Livonia Civic Center Library. All parents are welcome to attend this event, at which reports from all officers are shared and elections for board positions are held.  The Coho coaching staff appreciates the efforts of our volunteers on the LCSC BoD!  Please consider attending this meeting to gain a better understanding of the behind-the-scenes parent involvement, and learn about ways in which you can help Team Coho grow.

Spring/Summer Goal Sheets Available at Practice and on Team Website
Each season, swimmers are expected to update their personal swimming goals by completing a Coho Swimming goal sheet. 2019 Spring/Summer Goal Sheets are now available on the team website under the “Resources” tab:
https://www.teamunify.com/Documents.jsp?_tabid_=48401&team=milcsc
Thank you to the many swimmers already completing the current goal sheet.  It is important that each swimmer independently completes their goal sheet. Having an updated and complete goal sheet on file with the coaches, and a copy at home, sharpens the focus of each practice session.  Dream big and do the training necessary to achieve your highest-level goals.

Schedule Update
Week of May 6: All practices to run as scheduled.
Week of May 13: All practices to run as scheduled.

Racing Update
Two weeks until the first long-course meet of the season!  Coaches are fine-tuning the schedule to help each Coho plan their progression of races through August. 2019 Spring/Summer Racing Schedule (tentative) is now posted on the team website.         https://www.teamunify.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?_stabid_=196525&team=milcsc

May 17-19     2019 PCC Cruisin’ Into Summer @ EMU
LCSC entries for this meet were accepted.  Being prepared for long-course racing means athletes should know their stroke counts (how many strokes taken per length), understand the importance of excellent technique (body position, kicking rhythm, and stroke technique), and put in the work needed to continue improving speed.
May 31-June 2     2019 USSC Summer Bash: canceled.
This meet was scheduled as a back-up meet in case PCC entries were not accepted.
June 14-16     2019 DRD 49thAnnual Freeze or Fry Mix‘em Up Meet
Entry information is posted on the team website.  This meet is for all swimmers on the team.  It’s a great chance to race long-course close to home!
June 21     2019 Open Water at HVP: awaiting details regarding this event.

Fire Up, Cohos!
