PRACTICE CHANGES

There are no anticipated practice changes, at this time, for the next week.

ABBY SEEGER MEMORIAL INVITATIONAL

The Abby Seeger meet is this weekend, May 10-12.

This meet is an outdoor meet.  Both days of the meet will have temperatures in the 50s, with rain in the forecast for Sunday.  Swimmers should plan on dressing very warmly for this meet.

SPRING CONTRACTS

End-of-May contracts will end on Friday, May 24, before the Memorial Day weekend.  This is in conjunction with when summer swim leagues begin practicing.  Delaware Swim Team’s summer practice schedule begins on Saturday, May 25.  All swimmers practicing with the team on or after May 25 should be on an End-of-July contract.  For National Program members, if you would like to have your contract extended, contact Ann at office@delawareswimteam.com.  For Traditional and KYFW Program members, the Summer Non-National Program is available.  Details on this program are below.  These programs can be prorated based on when you decide to finish (or start), based on your summer plans.

SUMMER NON-NATIONAL PROGRAM

For those families with a swimmer in the Traditional Program or KYFW Program, Delaware Swim Team will still have practices from May 28-July 25.  There are several options for families, including options to swim just at Pike Creek or just at New Castle.  You can view the practice options here.  Pricing is included on this page.

If you have questions on which group may be best for you swimmer, contact Coach Matt at matthewa@delawareswimteam.com.

Registration for the summer non-National program is separate from any group that your swimmer is currently in.  So, you must re-register for this group.  You can do so by logging out of your account, and then going to the Summer Registration page, or by going through the "Start Registration" link and logging back into your account and selecting the proper group.

OFFICIALS FOR 2019-2020

If you have ever been interested in becoming an official, now is the time to begin that process.  The first step, even with no certification at all, is to go to maswimofficials.org and click on the "Clinics/Training" tab.  Select a class under "Upcoming Clinics" that has a day and time you can attend via video conference call.  Middle Atlantic has communicated to the administrative staff that they will take care of prospective officials from there, and help get them set up to train as an official.

People who are currently stroke & turn officials but want to get certified in other positions (starter, deck referee, meet referee, etc) can also begin their training by following the same instructions mentioned above.  Middle Atlantic will then reach out to you to help you from there.

Thanks,
The Delaware Swim Team coaching staff
