LCN Earth vs Dakota - Meet Results

The LCN Earth Swim Team traveled to Dakota High School this evening in the battle over 21 Mile Rd. The battle continues as it was a split decision. The 7th & 8th graders from the Earth swim team were defeated by a score of 99-57, but the 6th graders were victorious winning by a score of 84-69.

The team swam phenomenally tonight. I still cannot believe how much the team has improved during the course of the season. I am extremely proud of not only the swimmers, but also all of the coaches that are working with the swimmers.

The following swimmers attained best times this evening in the following events: 100 Free - Jason Hughes, Ali Holk, Abbie Hazelton, Ali Neil & Lea Neil, 100 IM - Kyle Schmitz, Paige Kloka & Georgia Czarny, 50 Free - Brandon Mowid, Dominic Voight, Mia Roelle, Scarlett Winter, Giabella Batkins Ashley Sollar & Jaeda Tilton, 1-meter diving - Madison Lum, Aubrie Kulik & Christian Talampas, 50 Fly - Paige Kloka, Georgia Czarny & Ali Neil, 200 Free - Makayla Owensby, Ali Holk, Brandon Mowid, Kobe Coverdill, Brynn Yurenka & Ashley Sollar, 50 Back - Samantha Tauriainen, Chloe Anderson, Brie Lowe, Giabella Batkins, Kennady LaGore & Abbie Hazelton, 50 Breast - Kyle Schmitz - Dominic Voight, Mea Roelle, Arianna Burford, Dom Malone, Jaeda Tilton & Bri Moore.

The pdf with the meet results are posted at the end of this section.

As you can see it was an outstanding meet. The team has two more meets left this season. The first is against L'Anse Creuse next Thursday, May 16, 2019 at L'Anse Creuse High School. Swimmers should arrive at LCHS between 4:30 and 4:45. Our final meet is the Championship Meet.

The Championship meet begins on Monday, May 20, 2019. This will be the diving prelim portion of the meet. All divers entered into the meet will preform 3 of their 4 dives this night in order to qualify (must place top 16) into the finals portion of their respective meets. On Tuesday, May 21, 2019, the 7th & 8th graders will be competing at LCN for their Championship. On Wednesday, May 22, 2019, the 6th graders will travel to LCHS to compete in their Championship Meet.

Some improtant notes about the up coming meets:

LCN Earth vs LCHS Middle School Dual Meet: Please login to the website and select each swimmers events. This will be extremely important for all MSN swimmers that are in band. Coach Mike has worked it out with the band director and chior director to permit swimmers to attend both events. Those in choir will participate in events towards the end of the meet and those in band would participate in eventFors at the beginning of the meet. Please attach a note on the declairations page so I know if the swimmer is in choir or in the band. We will also try and determine this information during practice this week.

MIDDLE SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIP MEET: Entries are due this Friday, May 17, 2019. All members of the team are eligible to compete in this meet even if they have not competed in a meet this season. Swimmers need to select their events on the website prior to Thursday, May 16, 2019. Parents: please also visit the events page and go to the job sign up page to volunteer and donate items for the Diving Prelims and the 7th & 8th Grade Championship meet. For the 6th grade parents: there is a possibility that I may have to ask for some volunteers to help run this meet. As I find out more information I will keep you updated.
