First Meet of the Long-Course Season!

With a sign that summer is indeed on its way, our first meet of the Long Course season was a big success! Our 14 attending swimmers joined their peers from 9 other teams at the May Warmup Meet at Rutgers University this past Saturday. Our Barracudas earned Career Best times, top places, Gold times, and more!

The 10 & Unders got things started with Personal Best Long-Course times in all of their splashes by Paityn Bates (-6.22 in the 100 Free, -3.07 in the 50 Free); Ryan Juckett (-8.31 in the 50 Back, -3.63 in the 50 Fly, and -2.02 in the 50 Free); Nathaniel Kern (-4.85 in the 100 Free, -0.40 in the 50 Back, -5.91 in the 50 Fly, and -3.20 in the 50 Free); and amazing drops by Ty Hollar  (-35.79 in the 100 Back, -21.30 in the 50 Back, and -7.39 in the 50 Free). Silver times were earned by Paityn (100 Free); Ryan (50 Free); and Nathaniel (100 Free, 50 Back, 50 Free). Congrats to Nathaniel for earning his first Gold Time of the season in the 50 Fly!

Our lone attending 13-14 and newcomer Will Tagliareni had a great first showing in his first-ever long-course meet placing 12th in his 100 Free, 19th in the 100 Back, 9th in the 200 Back, and 10th in the 50 Free!

The 15 & Overs were not to be outdone. Personal Bests were swum by Alyssa Amorim (-2.63 in the 50 Free, -1.29 in the 100 Free); Haley Britt (-0.95 in the 100 Back); Alex Flanagan (-0.80 in the 50 Free, -2.53 in the 100 Fly); Jordan Maruska (-2.53 in the 200 Breast); Billy Ruddy (-5.53 in the 100 Fly, -2.51 in the 50 Free); and Hannah Soutter (-2.17 in the 200 IM). Silver times were earned by Jillian Berg (100 Fly); Jordan (100 Free, 200 Breast, 400 Free, 50 free); Jake Riva (50 Free); and Billy (100 Fly, 400 Free, 50 Free). Congrats to Jake for swimming his first Gold times of the season in the 100 Back and 100 Fly!

NJB touched-in with some top places, too! First Places were earned by Jordan Maruska (100 Free, 200 Breast); Jake Riva (100 Back, 100 Fly, 50 Free); and our Girls 15&Over 200 Free Relay (Berg, Syd Mills, Amorim, Britt). Other Top 3 Places were swum by Jillian Berg (100 Fly, 200 IM); Haley Britt (100 Back); Nathaniel Kern (50 Fly); Jordan Maruska (400 Free); and Hannah Soutter (200 Back).
