Weekly Announcements for the Week of May 12

Happy Mother's Day!  Here’s all the news you need to know for the week of May 12:

1. Key Announcements:

  • Monday is Swimming in College Night -- Plan to join Coach Ron at 5:45 in the Wilkerson-Greines conference room for this interesting and informative talk.  It's great information that can be useful even if you aren't sure whether you want to swim in college.  
  • Tuesday is Team Cap Tuesday -- Show your pride, wear your cap!
  • Entries are in for the MAC Senior Meet and the MARS Open Long Course Meet next weekend -- If you're going to the MARS meet, please be aware that it's an outdoor pool, and seating is limited.  Bring a lawn chair and something to keep the shade (or rain) off of you or your swimmers.  
  • Sign-Ups Are Now Available for the BB/B/C FAST Meet and the Bill Nixon Meet, both in June -- Use the links below to go directly to the meet information pages.  

2. Practice Cancellations  There are   NO CANCELLATIONS THIS WEEK. Your coach will let you know if there are any practice-group specific adjustments to this week’s schedule.

3. Future Team Activities – We’ve got all sorts of team activities planned for the next few months. Here are a few dates for team meetings and events to put in your calendar:

  • Wednesday, May 22 – Annual Spring Meeting – Please plan to come to this meeting to hear about our plans for long course season and for updates on the team!

4. Help Us Grow the Team – Know anyone who might be interested in swimming competitively? Here are a few dates and options to keep in mind:

  • Tryouts -- Our next traditional tryouts are May 28.  Please tell anyone you know who might be interested in swiming for the summer or year round to come and check out the team.  Visit our home page, www.fastswimming.org for details and to sign up!  
  • Race Ready Lessons – Race Ready is a professionally taught stroke school, with new classes starting every 4 to 6 weeks. Classes are open to all ages, starting at age 5 and ranging to adults and seniors. Click HERE for more information.
  • Shape-Up Summer Swim for High School Swimmers – Shape-Up is for high school swimmers wanting to work on specific technique and stay in shape during the summer break! Click  HERE for more information.
  • 2019 Summer Punch Card Program – This program is for new swimmers who want to give the team a try over the summer before committing fully. 15- and 20-punch options are available. Click  HERE for more information.
