Cascade has six (6) swimmers named to Swim Alberta Western Canada Games team

14 May 2019 (Edmonton, AB) - Swim Alberta has named their Western Canada Games team for 2019 and Cascade is well represented once again with no less than six (6) swimmers being named to the provincial team.

On the girls side of the team Cascade will have both Payton Kelly and Peyton Morey swimming. Kelly was selected for the backstroke events while Morey will swim the Para category events.

The boys team was filled out with four (4) Cascade swimmers including Addison Butler and Hayden Woodrow sweeping the 200/400 Free category while Adam Connell was our third freestyler being selected for the 800/1500 Free. Caleb Gaine was named as well in the 200/400 IM category.

The Western Canada Games is a stepping stone event run every four years in between Canada Games. This time around the event will be held in Swift Current, Saskatchewan in August. The last time around in 2015 the event was held in Fort McMurray where Cascade had five swimmers (competing in two different sports): Jake Armstrong (Sr Select - Triathlon), Henry Jubenvill, Taryn Pratt and Ingrid Wilm. You can see results from that event archived here.

Fifteen (15) different clubs across the province added swimmers to this team from as far north as Grande Prairie (GPP) through Edmonton, Calgary, Lloydminster and all the way down south to Lethbridge (with a few stops along the way).
