May 20, 2019
Please note that the PSP facility is closed today for the holiday, so there will be no practice tonight.
We also have some good news to report about the pool: the water temperature is up to 26°C now! Quite an improvement over last week's chilling 23°C.
And now for the coaches' meet report from the province-wide NovaTech Explosion championship meet in Truro last weekend:
We attended the last meet May 4&5 with our youngest swimmers in Truro. Most of our swimmers improved all their times and seemed technically better than previous meets with more streamline off the walls, two-hand touches and proper flip turns.
Some highlights from the meet: Sebastian took off the most time in an event, taking off 26 seconds in the 200IM! We now have a group of swimmers with 1 AA time, but those who still need another are: Melanie, Savannah, Joshua and Lily. This is a huge achievement...the other time will follow.
A big congrats goes out to Savannah, who won the 50 kick event out of everyone with a time of 47 seconds... Amazing for a 10 year old.
Graduating out of NovaTech 1 was McKenzie Moore, way to go! Two levels in one season.
There was a lot of excitement around the meet and Rush was very excited to get back to his resort to go on the water slide.
Our NovaTech swimmers will still be swimming until the end of June at the regular times.
See you at the pool!
