SWAT, Update Tuesday, May 21 2019

Hello SWAT,

We’ve got a lot going on these next few weeks. Make sure you mark your calendars and set your reminders.

Fazarris Open

SWAT had some big time drops in Lewiston at the Fazzari’s Open this past weekend. This was a great first meet for a lot of our teammates and set the standard high for our expectations this season.

Meet Results will be available soon.

Thomas Rhett Concert

We had a great time at our second Centerplate fundraiser last Friday at the Thomas Rhett concert. With only 5 SWAT members in attendance, we sold $9-10k at two concessions stands. At %10 this will earn SWAT approximately $900 for one night’s work! This means that all volunteers will receive $5 credit per hour worked back to their account! Great job team. We need more volunteers to earn more for the team and more credits back to your accounts so sign up today.

Carrie Underwood this Wednesday!

This is a Sold Out Event and one of the biggest events to come to the Spokane Arena this year.

Centerplate is anticipating a lot of business for all the NPOs (non-profit organizations). They are asking that all concessions leads are at the arena at 4pm to begin set up. They are giving SWAT one of the primary concessions stands at the entrance, so we need to be prepared. Keep in mind we are still new to this and have a few more events to work before we’re comfortable with the process. All other workers need to be there at 5:30pm.

All workers must have their Food Handlers Permit and 21 & Over members are encouraged to get their MAST certification so they can serve beer/alcohol which is the largest source of income.

Send all certifications to Coach Muncie before the event.

Mel Zajac

This weekend is the Mel Zajac International Meet at UBC in British Columbia. SWAT has 10 swimmers attending. Swimmers leave Thursday @ 8am. Along with the required paperwork to cross the border, swimmers need to bring lunch, snacks, and water bottles for the 8+ hour trip.

No Practice this Saturday

No Practice this Saturday for Gold, Platinum, Senior and National swimmers. We will be back to a regular Saturday am schedule beginning next week.

SWAT Awards Banquet

Wednesday, June 5th 5:30pm at the HUB on campus at Whitworth.

Come out and celebrate the swimmers and all their accomplishments over this past year.

Sign up for this event just like you would any other event or swim meet and be sure to include the number of people attending in your party so we know how many to feed. Cost is $10 per person.
