Your weekly Cascade Swim Club updates
From the Office:
Ribbons From Summer Meets
Wondering where your swimmer can find their ribbons from meets this summer? Here’s how to find them:
QA: ribbon box at QA pool, or ask your pool parent
Ballard: ribbon box at Ballard pool, or ask your pool parent
Evans/Aqua Club/Shoreline: there is an alphabetized (by last name) ribbon box on the *Shoreline pool* deck on the table by the lifeguard office. It includes ribbons for swimmers all of these pools. Please have your swimmer check here for their ribbons.
If you have an Evans swimmer who is swimming at Ballard, please check the Evans ribbon box at Ballard or see Nicolas Kerr on deck on Mon. 4-4:45pm or Wed. 4:15-5pm.
Madison: ribbon box at Evans pool, or see your pool parent.
Rainier Beach: contact your pool parent
MAAPP Policy Reminder
USA Swimming has implemented a new Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) which provides an electronic communication, social media, and travel policy, in addition to other policy requirements. Cascade has adopted the entire MAAPP policy set as drafted by USA Swimming. MAAPP replaces our prior electronic communication policy, updates our travel and other policies. It is in effect immediately. Updated policies are posted on the team website, here: https://www.teamunify.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?team=pnscsc&_stabid_=18343
Additional information about MAAPP is available here:
From The Deck:
Did you know all of Cascade’s equipment info is posted on our team store page? You can access the team store by clicking here: https://www.teamunify.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?team=pnscsc&_stabid_=198692
Please see Coach Orr’s recent email for additional details, or contact your coach with any questions about the right equipment for your swimmer. If your swimmer needs to try on items or buy equipment in person, visit one of Sylvia's two retail locations (Shoreline or Bellevue) where they can help you with your purchases and questions. Remember to save your receipts for an easy return on any items that don't fit right or aren't working properly.
Training equipment is not required of our newer swimmers and each of our sites has various equipment that swimmers can borrow during practice. As your swimmer becomes more committed to the sport, training equipment becomes more essential. Ideally, all swimmers should get the proper equipment for their group when they are ready, and to build up their gear bags as they progress through our program. Once you have your equipment, it’s important to bring your gear bags to every practice!
Thank you for helping us to provide the best training program for our swimmers. Having a few more tools in our tool box will help us be the best we can be every stroke of the way!
Please note the upcoming no practice/closure dates at each pool. Pool closure dates are located in the Calendar tab and also in the “ Pool Closures” dropdown on the team website.
