News and Notes
Welcome to Meet Week and our first week of the Summer Practice schedule FCYST!!!! The Swim Team Office and our outstanding parent volunteers are busy prepping for the Summer Classic. An email with meet specific information will go out to all families on Wednesday. Thank you to all our families for all your hard work to make this meet possible.
Thank you to all the families who volunteered for our Brat Fry and to those who came to purchase the delicious food! It was a great fundraiser for our team! Thank you to Tony Hagenow for organizing the event again this year!
And finally, Happy Father’s Day to all our awesome FCYST swim dads! You are all amazing and we hope you have a wonderful day.
-Summer Classic Help: We are still in need of several more volunteers for the meet this weekend at Erb. We need timers for the second session on Saturday! Please email Melinda if you are available to help. All volunteers need to be 12 years of age or older. If you are available at any time during the swim meet this weekend, please go to the volunteer table in the lobby and ask what you can do to help. Thank you!
-Practice Changes: Please note the changes in our practice schedule over the next few weeks.
- Saturday, June 15: No practice as we are hosting the Summer Classic at Erb.
- Monday, June 17: No practice for Developmental Groups and Age Group. Teal, Blue and Gold will practice as normal, however, no DRYLAND.
- Wednesday, June 19: No dryland for Teal, Blue and Gold groups. All swim practices as normal.
- Friday and Saturday, June 21-22: No practices as we have 2 meets we are attending.
- Friday and Saturday, July 5-6: No practices-Bird Bath Invite!
- Monday, July 8: No practice for any of our groups as we recover from the Bird Bath.
- Saturday, July 13: No practices, FCYST is going to Camp!
-FCYST Summer Meet Website: FCYST has its very own website specific to our two hosted summer meets. HERE you can find all the information about these two meets, view and order apparel, view heat sheets once they are available, and find some cool Erb Pool facts. Check it out!
-2019 Bird Bath Towels: Back by popular demand are the Bird Bath Towels! They are only available pre-order ONLY! Orders must be placed by June 23. HERE is the link to purchase! Other Bird Bath apparel will be available to purchase at the meet.
-Flippers for Summer Practices: A reminder that swimmers will need a proper fitting pair of flippers to bring with them to all practices. Most of our practice groups use flippers very regularly and FCYST does not have access to any flippers at Lawrence or Erb. You can purchase the same flippers that are located at the Neenah and Appleton Y pools through the Elsmore link on the lower left side of our website. If you have any flippers at home that your swimmer does not use anymore, feel free to post them to our Facebook page to either donate or sell.
-Camp Nan A Bo Sho, July 12-14: All FCYST swimmers have the awesome opportunity to attend Camp Nan A Bo Sho again this summer! We have changed it up a bit from last year and will be adding another day, attending over an entire weekend and will have the Camp to ourselves! We had so much fun last summer forming new relationships, strengthening current ones, and being a team, all while enjoying all the wonderful things Camp has to offer. Camp Nan A Bo Sho is located in Lakewood, WI. Swimmers will take a bus to and from Camp. More information is posted to our website along with the Sign Up. Cost will be $95 and billed to your team account just like Swim Meets. We are really excited to have the weekend at Camp for just our Team and are looking forward to as many swimmers as possible to attend.
-Open Swims: FCYST has lanes reserved every Monday and Wednesday for Open Swim at the Appleton Y from 6-7:30pm. Open swim times are an excellent opportunity for our swimmers to come and work on whatever they want and have a coach on deck to supervise and help as needed. All FCYST swimmers are encouraged to attend.
