Good Evening All,
What an exciting weekend of racing we had in Kamloops. Swimmers from Sharks through Gold competed in the 3rd Annual TRU Wolfpack Meet. Medals and ribbons were collected, new Provincial, Championship and NWT Qualifying times were achieved. A special thank you to our fantastic Chaperone, Meagan Wowk who was especially dependable throughout a long and busy weekend. Thanks also to Coach Kirsty and Coach Frankie who stepped up, on deck, to ensure that the 20 competitors were given the best attention. I was super proud of the team work and support that the group showed throughout the weekend. Accompanying parents, Justin, Lina and Meagan also went above and beyond acting as timers throughout the meet. Our swimmers are very appreciative of that effort.
This upcoming weekend is also a special one. Our Annual Prize Giving and House Cup Award Ceremony will take place Sunday 16 June at the JTFN Mess. We kick off at 1:00 with a Pot-Luck BBQ where you provide the sides (salada, veggies, fruit etc.) and desserts and we provide the Hot Dogs and Hamburgers. Please kindly lable any dishes with allergens, including nuts and chocolate. Swiftly following the meal will be Awards ceremony and presentation of the House Cup. The Annual AGM follows while the Senior swimmers take care of the younger ones. NWT Swimming will be in attendance to name the Western Canada Summer Games Team. Things wrap up at approximately 3:00 with an end year slide show. We can't wait to see you there.
Speaking of NWT Swimming, there is an exciting clinic being prepared for the 22nd of June at Ruth Inch Pool. Please save the date if your swimmer is looking to improve their starts off of the block. Please register, in advance, through email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or in person at the pool. Fees are minimal $15. More Info to Follow
The year is almost through and I am accepting constructive critisim. If you have a fantastic idea or extra energy, now is your chance to decide to be a part of the amazing group of people who organise the YKPBSC. WE will be looking at filling positions at the AGM including Treasurer, Communications Officer and Conflict Resolution, to name a few. Please think about it during the next couple of days.
Finally if you have photos to share of swimmers, this year, please forward them to Remy or Lea. Looking forward to see you all there.
