This past weekend LASC competed at Alberta LC Provincials at the brand new Seton YMCA Pool in south Calgary with a shot at making Summer Championships on the line.
In total 13 swimmers from the Provincial, Jr. National and National groups came out to compete in the three day meet.
The swimmers came out firing on all cylinders on the opening day as three swimmers, Cassidy Coolen, Anne Cronemberger, and Lydianna O'Neil, booked their tickes to Summer Champs with outstanding performances by either hitting the Champs cut or winning an individual event. As well, the team capped they day off capturing a relay bronze in the Girls Open 4 X 50 Free.
The medal haul didn't stop after the first day as LASC continued to bring in some impressive finishes, in total the team walked away with 9 individual and 1 relay medal.
It was a great experience for all swimmers involved. For some of the younger swimmers it was their first time competing at this level and they got a chance to test their mettle against the other competitiors. For some it was a fantastic way to finish off the year with best times and inspire them to keep working onto next year. And for others it was their last prep meet before they go onto Champs to finish off the season.
