Luckett Makes #3 with Verbal Commitment

Leah Luckett, from Kings Mills, Ohio is excited to announce her verbal commitment to the University of Kentucky. "I am so excited to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Kentucky. I chose Kentucky because of the great coaching staff and team. I cannot wait to spend 4 years in Lexington! A Huge Thanks to my family friends and coaches for helping me with this decision.”

Luckett is a member of the Countryside YMCA Torpedoes National Team. During her career she has been known for her ability to swim multiple events, ranging from sprint to middle distance. As a junior she developed her breaststroke and backstroke events, qualifying for US Winter Junior Nationals in the 200 Backstroke. She will go to Kentucky with the versatility to swim multiple events.

Unfortunately, during the end of her junior year she was diagnosed with mononucleosis. Despite this diagnosis in March, she was able to swim best times or near best times during the High School Districts, State and YMCA Nationals. She has worked extremely hard on getting back to full strength and is looking to explode this summer at the ISCA Senior Cup in August.

During Leah’s career as a Torpedo, She has made the team’s all-time Top 10 list 64x throughout her career so far and is a team record holder in 3 individual events. Congratulations Leah on your commitment to swim in college at the University of Kentucky.
