Dear GMA Senior, Sectional and National Group swimmers and parents,
Thank you so much for getting the summer long course schedule off to a GREAT start this week! We appreciate how are athletes are working hard to arrive at practice early and prepared for training. We know the schedule shift is a challenging one and we are excited to share the morning hours together in training throughout the summer months! Keep up the great work GMA!
We have some critical team reminders for our 13 and older athletes:
- Thank you to all of our families for falling right in step with the new USA Swimming Minor Athlete Protection Policy. From now on, all text and e-mail communications between a coach and an athlete must include a parent. Our athletes have been outstanding in including their parents on texts with me. I really appreciate the immediate attention to this change. Please let me know if you have any questions. Please click HERE to link to the MAAPP information page on the USA Swimming website for more information.
- ALL GMA athletes ages 18 and older are REQUIRED to take the Athlete Protection Trainnig online through USA Swimming. Please click HERE to link to that training. Athletes who have not completed the testing will not be allowed to compete in swim meets. All 18 and older athletes attending the Montreal meet MUST COMPLETE THE TRAINING BEFORE FRIDAY 6/21/19.
- All GMA graduating Seniors attending the New England Senior Meet must complete the online Senior Ceremony registration in order to participate in the Senior Ceremony at New England Seniors. Please click HERE to link to the registration form.
- All GMA athletes who have completed 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grade, have a 3.5 GPA and have achieved the 2018 Winter Junior National time standards in at least one event may apply to achieve the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America recognition. Please click HERE for more information and for the link to apply.
Please let me know if I can help our athletes with any of these requirements.
Many thanks and see you at the pool soon,
Laura Matuszak, GMA Head Coach
