Fifteen Medals at the BC Summer Age Group Provincials in Chilliwack helped lead the Spartan Swim Club to a fifth place overall team finish!
From the entire Province 457 swimmers ages eight through thirteen came together at the Chilliwack Leisure Landing Centre on June 21st– 23rd2019 to compete. The Spartan Swim Club would like to thank all the volunteers for the great job they did, as well as the city of Chilliwack for the use of the facility.
In the 10 and under girl’s category Ava Evans led the way with a Gold medal in the 200m Freestyle a silver in the 400m Free and a bronze in the 200m Back. Ava also placed seventh in the 200m IM and eighth in the 100m Free. Amya Carlson had a fantastic meet finishing third in the 200m Fly fourth in both the 100m and 200m Breast and she was fifth in the 400m IM. The girls 10 and Under relay consisting out Ava Evans, Amya Carlson, Emma Enns and Kaitlyn Muxlow also swam their way to a Bronze medal!
Boys 11 and under had Spartans Erik Rexha swimming to bronze in the 200m Back and placing fourth in the 100m back and fifth in the 200m Free.
Calli Saunders competed in the 11-year-old girls category and won Bronze in the 200m Fly, sixth in the 100m Fly and she was eighth in the 200m IM.
Bronwen Wheeler led the charge in the girls 12-year-old age group with five medals, which included winning the 400m IM, placing second in both the 100m and 200m fly, third in the 200m IM and400m free. Bronwen was also came fifth in the 100m Free and sixth in the 200m free. Emma Evans splashed her way to Gold in the 100m Backstroke and she was fifth in the 200m and 400m free, sixth in the 50m free and seventh in the 100m free. Aryka Bennett won bronze in the 200m Fly and she was fourth in the 400m IM and eighth in the 400m free, 100m fly and 200m IM. Zoe Unger push her way to fifth in both the 100m and 200m Butterfly.
Looking at the boys 13 year old division Niall Johnson won a Silver medal in the 200m Free and he was fourth in the 400m Free
