All City Updates
The All City Meet is upon us! There are some key things you need to know as we prepare for this weekend:
Friday Set up - Please arrive at 4:30 and meet on the East side of the pool area, outside the snack shack and side gate. Many hands make for fast work, so we appreciate your help. We should be able to have setup done in about 2 hours.
Set up Eats - We will have smoothies (16oz.) for $5, churros for $2, and water for $1 at All City set up this Friday night. Come with cash. Erica will be over by the other teams entrance by 4pm. Get your snack on!
Warmups are at 7:30 - 7:50 racing lanes 6-8 and warm-up lane 3 on both Saturday and Sunday. We only have 20 minutes to warm up, so be on time. The meet starts promptly at 9:00 am.
Jobs - Thank you to those of you who have signed up for jobs to support the meet this weekend! We cannot operate this meet without all our family volunteers. Please check in for all jobs with Aimee or John Murphy at your assigned time. Lanyards will be provided for most assigned roles.
If you have NOT signed up . . . there are still job slots available. Contact Aimee Murphy firstname.lastname@example.org ASAP. Remember that you will forfeit your jobs deposit if you don't either work the meet, find a sub or contact us to make other arrangements. Every family is required to cover the equivalent of 1 full day shift. Please respect the team's requests and all of our working families and do your part. If you can’t work, we have many willing subs (you have to pay them). Thank you!
Ok, now for the fun stuff!
Erica Gilmore is picking everything up on Friday morning and will have it to the pool as soon as possible. She will try and be there so you can pick up after the entire team meeting. There will be more shirts and hats to sell at the Meet so if you didn't get one -- you still can! And you can pick-up at the Meet set-up Friday evening or throughout the Meet.
If you purchased a parking permit you will be able to pick up at the Meet set-up on Friday evening. Or at practice Friday morning. The passes are only valid for Saturday & Sunday so come early to find parking on Friday evening.
Programs will be available for purchase at the Meet set-up on Friday evening (Erica won't have them in time to bring to practice). The cost is $8 and includes a highlighter. There will be sharpies near Clerk of the Course for you use to mark 8&U backs. Everyone is pretty great at sharing. Check the program for how to mark your swimmer -- it really helps Clerk of the Course if the swimmers are properly marked.
Let's all try and squeeze together and share tents and leave space for walkways. I know many people have already made a plan to share and that's great!
If you have questions, please feel free to ask Jeff or Jenny Budke, or Erica Gilmore and we’ll help you figure out how to have a great meet!
Post Meet Celebration - There will be an informal post-meet celebration/relaxation at Pinky’s Pizza, sometime on Sunday evening.
Thanks for all of your help. This is always a fun meet as a team, and a great fundraiser, too!

7/25 Nightrider Visit and Conference Info
Every family.... fill out the following Google Form. It has info on the Nightrider visit and t-shirt sizing for Conference. Please complete by July, 5th.
The story of the Nightriders...read this to your kiddos!
In 1972 our team had lost every single dual meet of the season. All 12 of them. We were 0-12 and going into conference with no morale whatsoever. Coach Brad, a swimmer at the time, and 6 of his 15-18 friends decided that they needed to do something to get everyone excited and pumped for Conference. The 7 boys decided to bring cookies and posters to every single kid the night before the meet, to get them excited and ready to swim that weekend. They spent the entire night before the meet finding all the kids houses and bringing them bags of cookies and homemade posters.... They finished just in time to make it to the meet and although they were exhausted, they had never felt more pumped. The team went on to WIN the meet and everyone swam amazingly. These night time visits became a yearly tradition before the end of the year meet, and once the girls got involved, the cookies became homemade and the posters were a little more detailed though still carrying the same message. The Nightriders have continued this tradition throughout the years and are in the midst of preparing for this year’s visits.
The Nightriders are so excited to carry on this tradition, as it is one of the most anticipated events of the year. The kids are just as excited as we are! Families get ready that Thursday before Conference, often even with others on the team, to enthusiastically greet the Nightriders (sometimes even with posters, water balloons, or nerf guns... sometimes all of the above!) and we couldn’t be happier! This is such a fun and special night for our swimmers and we really hope everyone is as ready as we are!
Love, The Nightriders :)
7/28 After Conference Party

We will have the splash park open, the pool, music and just over all fun!
So bring your chairs, dinner, drinks, bathing suits and your fun pool toys and join us for a splashing good time.
Awards Banquet - sit tight on a date, time, and location for this...we are working on it. Usually around mid-late August.
We have three main fundraising focuses this year.
The first is our All City meet. This is our BIGGEST fundraiser of the year and we need ALL hands on deck starting now. Recruit for ads and shout outs to be placed in our All City program starting now. Email email@example.com for more info.
The second is through team sponsors. Tap into your network of awesome businesses to sponsor our team. For info and sponsors packages, email firstname.lastname@example.org
The third is our Swim-A-Thon hosted by our Nightriders. This will be July 11 during practice and our goal is $2000 to raise money for our Nightriders to support all the events/activities they do for the team. If every swimmer raises at least $20, we will meet our goal. Go to our home page to track our team progress, set up your donation page and donate. The race is on now.
We are in need of a fundraising person. This is a board position. Please email email@example.com if you are interested or want more info.
