Thank you to all the swimmers and parents who joined us on Sunday, June 9 at our Annual General Meeting (AGM), Club awards and retirement celebration.
Thirty swimmers enjoyed Team Building activities at the Wilderness Centre. The weather held while they performed several challenges together in the field.
Our annual AGM was a success. We filled several key positions for the coming year including:
- Corporate Sponsorship & Grants: Matthew
- Equipment: Zohar Betser
- Secretary: Jen Klink
- Vice President: Carey Provencher
- Electronics operator: Michelle MacDonald

We are grateful for the support offered. It is our aim to fill positions on a bi-annual basis to give board members the opportunity to try new positions and cross train with incoming members. We encourage any family who has been with the club for 2-3 years to consider joining the board to help guide our direction and activities that support our club’s success.
Positions left to fill are:
- Junior Coordinator
- Bookkeeper, or Treasurer (one, as current Treasurer is unable fill both roles)
Please contact Tammy Berry at email@example.com if you would like more information in these positions.
Topics and updates at our AGM discussion included:

Fees, fundraisers and schedule for next year
Club financial statements
Registration opened June 10. Encouraging new swimmers will help build our club’s success. Communications: we discussed how to share the story of our club to encourage new swimmers to register. Most of our new swimmers learn of SPSC through word of mouth. It is important to share our club philosophy: being family friendly, flexible, and encouraging our swimmers in a supportive and respectful environment. We have started an Instagram account at https://instagram/sherwoodparkswimclub Our administrator will work to keep the website up to date with SPSC news, successes and clear information to assist our current and future membership.
