2019 AEC Elections

 
 

TO: USA Swimming Athletes' Committee Members, National Committee Athlete Reps, LSC Senior and Junior Athlete Representatives
 
The USA Swimming Athletes' Executive Committee (AEC) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for AEC Elections at the 2019 United States Aquatic Sports Convention in St. Louis, MO.
 
This year there will be four (4) open positions on the AEC.
 
Members of the Athletes' Committee are encouraged to consider running to serve on the AEC. To be eligible to appear on the ballot, interested athletes must declare their intention to run by August 11th, 2019, 1 month prior to the United States Aquatic Sports Convention in St. Louis. AEC candidates must submit a resume/biography statement, which must comply with the template. Interested candidates who do not
declare their candidacy by August 11th, 2019 will be allowed to run from the floor but may not submit a resume/biography statement. Athletes should declare their intention to run and submit their candidate resume/biography to Cathy Durance, AEC Staff Liaison at cdurance@usaswimming.org.
 
Athletes' Committee members interested in running for the AEC must meet one of the following criteria:
• At least 2 years of satisfactory National Committee experience and be at least 18 years old.
• Professional or leadership experience and be at least 18 years old.
 
Please note that members of the AEC are expected to be actively engaged for a minimum of two years. Prospective candidates should ensure they are able to make a two-year commitment to the AEC prior to declaring their candidacy.
