White Eagle Swim Team News 07.07.19

Hello Warrior Families!

Important Reminder/Updates:

  • White Eagle Warriors Cress Creek Commons Cobras Food Drive Challenge!

At the July 11th meet held at at Cress Creek Commons, we will be having a food drive collection challenge between White Eagle and Cress Creek Commons which will benefit Loaves and Fishes Community Services.

Swimmers from both teams are asked to donate the following needed items to our collection: diapers, wipes, toilet paper, whole grain cereals, whole grain pastas, oatmeal, rice and couscous.  The team with the most collected items wins the challenge and will be announced at the meet. Please help us support Loaves and Fishes and the great work they do in our community!

For those who don't know, Loaves & Fishes Community Services provides healthy food and impactful programs to promote self-sufficiency. Loaves & Fishes began 35 years ago in a church closet with just 8 families. Today, we serve more than 800 families A WEEK with grocery assistance and programs to help people become self-sufficient. 1 in 5 individuals is living in poverty or with a low-income in DuPage County. Loaves & Fishes is able to help struggling families because of the support of the community, like you!

  • Trophies: The End-of-the-Season Banquet is fast approaching on Sunday, July 28th, from 10:00-12:00 in the morning.  Personalized swim trophies will be given out to the swimmers at the banquet.  If your child does NOT want to receive a trophy, please e-mail Stephanie @ steph.sewasciuk@hotmail.com no later than Monday, July 8th, as the order for trophies is being placed this week.

  • Jobs: As a reminder, every swim family has a requirement to fulfill 5 jobs during the season. These jobs are critical to ensure the meets run smoothly. If you do not show up and do not contact the volunteer coordinators, you will be fined $80. If an emergency arises, contact the volunteer coordinators at least 6 hours in advance to facilitate swapping meets or paying $40 for a teen worker.

  • Save the date! Tuesday July 16th - DJ Pool Party 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. - DJ, Snacks, Fun pool games.  Free for swimmers and their families.

  • Post practice breakfast on meet days -  Coaches and the White Eagle Warriors Swim Program would like to offer a post practice breakfast at the pool for the swimmers and coaches on the days that we have meets.  Breakfast will fuel our swimmers and encourage camaraderie and socialization among our team. To make this happen, we are looking for food donations for each age group. If interested in donating, please sign up for a date and time slot.  Donations can be sent with your swimmer to practice on the designated date and a parent volunteer will collect and set out at the end of practice.

Please consider donating a breakfast item for the swimmers and coaches to enjoy!
