Club Records fall at Summer Championships

This past weekend the Killarney Swim Club was in action at the Kinsmen Sports Center in Edmonton for the AB Summer Championships.  Killarney was represented by a contingent of 25 swimmers.

The team finished 8th overall in team scoring.  Killarney swimmers produced 93 personal best times, 2 club records, and climbed onto the podium 4 times.

Kyle Troskot won two bronze medals in the 50 free and 50 fly sprint events.   Isaac To, who just aged up last weekend, won bronze in the 50 breaststroke.   Isaac also set a new club record in this event breaking Rhys Johnsons 13-14 record from 2011.  Lauren Porter earned the team’s highest finish, second, with a first time Championship medal in the 200 Breaststroke.

Paul Dardis broke his own club record in the 400 Free.

“We had some really exciting swimming from the 14 and under program, lots of new finalists and morning break through swims.  The Performance group now sets their focus onto the Swimming Canada Level Meets.   Troskot and Mitchell have the Summer Nationals, MacLean and Ford have the Canadian Junior Champs.”
