Nghiem is Golden at the 2019 Man/SK Long Course Provincials

Saskatoon Goldfins’ Andrew Nghiem brought home 5 Gold Medals at this year’s Man/SK Long Course Senior Provincial Championships held this past weekend in Winnipeg, MB.  Andrew medaled in the seven events taking first place in the 200M Individual Medley, 200M Breaststroke, 50M Breaststroke, 100M Breaststroke, and in the 400M Individual Medley.  Andrew added to the Goldfins medal count by winning two Silver Medals in the 200M and in the 400M Freestyle.

 

The Saskatoon Goldfins Swim Club won a total of 18 medals at this year’s provincial championships:

Gold:

Ana Furmanic                         50 Breaststroke

Brayden Hemeon                    50 Breaststroke

Andrew Nghiem                     200 & 400 IM, 50, 100, 200 Breaststroke

Nathan Vong                          100 Breaststroke

 

Silver:

The Goldfins finished 5th at the meet scoring 1581 Individual Points and 172 Relay Points for a team total of 1753 points.

Brayden Hemeon improved his own 200M Breaststroke Provincial Record and his own Saskatoon Goldfins Long Course Club record with a time of 2:23.58.  Isabel Magus, Mateya Olszynski, Anya Sasata, and Rhett Smith posted 100% Personal Best Times.   Goldfins swimmers posted 161 personal best times.
