Spartan Place 6th at Provincials!!!

Spartans place sixth in team rankings at the BC Provincial Championships in Victoria! 


July fourth through the seventh the Spartan Swim Club sent 20 swimmers to Victoria to compete against 550 athletes from across the Province. After the four-day competition Spartan swimmers brought home eight medals from the pool as well as three Open Water medals from the lake


In the Girls 14 and Under category Emily De Jager swam her way to a silver medal in the 200m Free, fourth in the 100m Free, fifth in the 800m Free sixth in the 1500m Free and seventh in the 50m Free. Mary Rose Jerodico came away with a bronze in the 100m Breaststroke and Bronwen Wheeler was fifth in the 200m Fly and eighth in the 400m IM


Caden Hyde raced in the Para Open events and finished fifth in all the 50m Free, 100m Free, 400m Free, 100m Back and he was sixth in the 200m IM


Spartan 15 and Over girls had Anna Dumont-Belanger winning silver in the 400m Free, bronze in the 800m Free, fifth in the 400m IM, seventh in the 200m IM and she was eighth in the 1500m Free. Sheigh Gaudette pushed to a sixth place in the 100m Breaststroke and Jessie Gibson also place sixth in both the 100m and 200m Fly. Haley Klenk won two silver medals in the 100m and 200m Backstroke and she was fifth in the 100m free. Tobyn Smith splash to seventh in the 100m Back.  Women’s 4 x 50m medley relay consisting of Haley Klenk, Sheigh Gaudette, Jessie Gibson and Anna Dumont-Belager also won a Silver medal


Competing in the 16 and over boys category Myles Wheeler led the way with a Gold in the 200m Breaststroke followed by fifth in the 400m IM and 100m Breast and he was eight in both the 800m and 1500m Free. Logan Sparks finished fourth in the 1500m Free and eighth in the 400m Free. James De Jager was sixth in the 800m and 1500m free and he was seventh in the 400m free.


In the Open Water swim Bronwen Wheeler won Silver and Aryka Bennett and Niall Johnson both won Bronze!
