Willowick Whips Willoughby, Wins Third in a Row

Depth is a sign of a good team, and one that will be able to challenge for one of the top spots at the Championship Meet.

Willowick's depth was on display Saturday as the Wildkats ran away from the host Willoughby Stingers for a 317-196 victory. It was Willowick's third win in a row.

The Wildkats were missing more than 10 swimmers who typically score points or are in one of the top relays in their respective age groups. That didn't stop them from sweeping all eight age groups.

The win was brought on the strength of the 11-12 girls, who won all nine of their events. The girls were led by Savannah Hirsch, Holly Suponcic and Izzy Trem, who won both of their individual events. They were also a part of the winning medley (with Anna Miller) and free (with Carmela Taraska) relays. Anna Miller also won the 100 free.

Other double individual winners for the Wildkats were: Miranda Conway (25 free, 25 back), Nathaniel Peters (25 free, 50 breast), Elliot Suponcic (25 fly, 50 free), Riley Lacinak (50 free, 100 free), Pete DiCello (50 Fly, 100 free), Tino Perkovic (50 free, 50 fly), Megan Snyder (200 free, 100 free), Ava Peterlin (50 free, 100 breast) and Grace Suponcic (200 free, 100 fly).

Willowick will finish it's regular, dual-meet season when they visit South Euclid-Lyndhurst on Saturday.
