Practice schedule changes this week

  • July 24th -- Morning practice is cancelled due to the Straehle meet. Evening practice will run as scheduled for those signed up for evening practice.  This practice will be our last evening  practice pep rally.
  • July 25th -- Evening practice is cancelled due to the Jr. Championships meet.  There will be one morning practice from 9:30-11am for those not attending Jr. Championships.
  • July 26th -- Practice for all swimmers will be at 9:30am.  This will be our last Fun Friday!
  • Mini Stingrays will practice at their normal time on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and are welcome to attend our last Fun Friday at 930.  There will be no Mini practice on Wednesday.

Straehle

This meet is for swimmers who have met Straehle qualifying times.

When:  Wednesday, July 24th, at 9:30am.  Warm-ups start at 7:15am. Our team’s specific warm-up time will be announced shortly.  Please watch your email carefully. If you are swimming in a relay only, please arrive at 11:30am for 12pm warm-ups.

 

Where:  Carroll Aquatics Swim Club -- located at the Four Seasons Sports Complex

                2710 Hampstead Mexico Road, Hampstead MD

 

There will be a “Tent City” in the large field directly behind the pool. Our team will have a few tents set up and will have our team banner hanging on a tent. Please look for us and check in when you arrive. If you need to contact us on the day of the meet, please email us at wststingrays@gmail.com.

We are awaiting a list of volunteer assignments from the host team.  We will open up volunteer sign-ups as soon as we get additional information.  Please sign up for your job as soon as possible once jobs become available. We will be expecting all families with swimmers in individual events to have volunteer jobs during at least one stroke.

Junior Championships

When:  Thursday, July 25th, 4-10pm

Where:  Westminster Riding Club, 366 North Colonial Avenue, Westminster MD

If you’re swimming, please plan to arrive at the Riding Club by 2:45pm.  We will send our team’s specific warm-up time as soon as we receive the information.  Please monitor your email carefully.

We are awaiting a list of volunteer assignments from the host team.  We will open up volunteer sign-ups as soon as we get additional information.  Please sign up for your job as soon as possible once jobs become available.

Divisionals

This is a meet that includes all teams from Division III. Coach Nick sent out the swimmer selections yesterday.  Please reach out to the coaches if you are unsure about your swimmer(s) participation.

When:  Saturday, July 27th, at 9am.  Warm-ups start at 7:45am so please plan to arrive at 7:30am.  We will send our team’s specific warm-up time as soon as we receive the information.  Please monitor your email carefully.

Where:  Andover Swim Club, 819 Main Ave, Linthicum Heights, MD

Thanks to all who have signed up to volunteer so for.  We have a few volunteer positions open.  If you are willing to fill these positions, please sign up on Team Unify as soon as possible.  Thank you!

Banquet

Our end-of-the-year banquet will take place on Saturday, July 27th, from 5-9pm.  Please join us to celebrate the end of a fabulous season. 

If you haven’t already committed, please do so as soon as possible and list in the notes how many family members are coming so that we can plan for enough food.

We are asking families with 5 or more people attending (including your swimmer) to please sign up to bring 2 items. Families with 1-4 people attending (including your swimmer) should sign up to bring at least 1 item to share. If you choose to bring an "other" option in any category, please be specific. We will provide fried chicken, hot dogs, potato salad and macaroni salad.

Coaches’ gifts

We are collecting money to give our coaches an end of the season gift.  Any amount is greatly appreciated.  Please place cash or check in the envelope in the Muse folder by Wednesday July 24th. 

Stingray chips

Stingray chips earned during this season can be redeemed for candy and little prizes during the banquet.  Also, each chip is worth $.25 at the city pool snack bar.

Lost and found

Please check the lost and found for any items you may have lost during the season.

Final thoughts

As we near the end of another Stingrays swim season, we'd like to thank each and every family for being an integral part of our wonderful swimming family. The wonderful memories our swimmers have made -- and will continue to make -- will stay with them for years to come. Until next summer!
