Cascade annouces August Training programs available this season at Ballard and Rainier Beach pools for those that want to get some extra work in during our August break.
For most of our swimmers who swam throughout summer and especially those that doubled-up swimming summer league, taking August off for a little recovery will be good for the mind and body. Swimmers nursing injuries and our youngest swimmers should take August off. Coming back fresh and healthy in September is our goal for all our swimmers.
Our August programs are optional and LIMITED to the first 60 swimmers who sign up at Ballard and first 50 at Rainier Beach. Selections to each program are also on a COACH-APPROVED basis. It is important both programs have swimmers that are capable and committed to doing the work provided by the coaches at each pool. The programs are not meant to provide an end of summer drop-off option for parents.
The focus of each program will differ slightly as well:
CSC CAPACITY, our program at Ballard, is for our 11&older swimmers needing techinical work and added aerobic development. Swimmers will be working on technique improvements, drilling all strokes and also swimming challenging aerobic sets building up to our fall season start.
CSC STREAMLINE, our program at Rainier Beach, is for newer swimmers on Cascade and for swimmers interested in trying us out. Swimmers must already know how to swim. Swimmers will be learning new skills and drills in preparation for the upcoming fall season. Non-members will need to join USA Swimming (CLICK for USA-S FORM).
