Kihei States 2019 RECAP

KSC wrapped up a full weekend of swimming in Kihei last weekend, bringing home our 34th straight state championship title. Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated in this past weekend's State Championship meet and a huge thank you to the parents who helped volunteer to make this meet run smoothly!  Swimmers raced many best times and multiple swimmers gained new qualifying times to upcoming travel meets on the mainland.

 

8 year old, Anya Pivonka, improved her 100 Backstroke time dropping 6 seconds for a time of 1:31.49.

9 year old, Koanui Keaulana, improved his 50 Free time by dropping 2 seconds for a time of 33.82.

10 year old, Brahman Davis, improved his 100 Breast  time by dropping 8 seconds for a time of 1:30.24. 

11 year old, Kodai Eskin, improved his 200 Breast time by dropping 23 seconds with a time of 3:06.07.

12 year old, Tea Brandon, improved her 100 Fly time by dropping 15 seconds with a final time of 1:11.76. 

13 year old, Sala Yasumi, improved her 200 Back by dropping 7 seconds with a final time of 2:7.99.

14 year old, Briscoe Beaton, improved his 400 IM time by dropping 24 seconds with a final time of 4:54.26.

15 year old, Blaise Swartwood, improved his 800 Free time by dropping 27 seconds with a time of 9:23.55.

16 year old, Lauren Croll, improved her 100 Free time by dropping 3 seconds for a time of 1:03.3.

17 year old, Noa Copp, improved his 100 Back time by dropping 4 seconds for a time of 1:05.82.

18 year old, Kanoa Sawai improved his 200 Fly time by dropping 8 seconds for a final time of 2:15.35.

 

Individual high point winners were Kai Flanagan (13-14) and Grace Monahan (15-18). Four Hawaiian Age Group Records were set over the weekend with 3 relays and one individual event. One new team record was established at the meet.  New State relay records and individual records broken are listed below.
