12&Under Long Course State Results

This past weekend in Kenosha, WI at the 2019 12&Under Long Course State Championship our swimmers were remarkable!  They were absolutely perfect.  By that I mean that every time one of them hit the water they notched a new best time!  And, usually by a lot!  Not only that, we completely re-wrote the team's record books.

Team Records (New Ones In Red)

Team Scores - We placed 21st overall!  Not too shabby, especially since we didn't have any relays!

Here are the highlights of each swimmer (alphabetically by first name).  Click on their names to see their results, places and time drops on SwimCloud

Ava Hayes -6 Swims, 3 Podium Finishes (6th, 8th & 10th), 2 new Zone Qualifying Time, and 1 new team record from 1976!

Avery Miles - 6 Swims, 5 Podium Finishes (2-3rds, 6th, and 2-10th), ALL of her swims were Zone Qualifying Times!, 5 new team records.  She already held most of them but notably broke one from 1973!

Cale Miles - 6 Swims, 6 Podium Finishes (3-Second Places, 4th, 5th & 6th), ALL of his swims were Zone Qualifying Times and all 6 swims were new team records!

Eve Stovall - This was Eve's first long course state meet.  Regardless, she swam three events and all three were best times.  She got the State Qualifying time in her 200 Free in her bonus swim.

Lily Shields - 3 Swims, 3 Best times!  Lily had a great State meet.  She qualified for the meet with her Short Course times.  At this Long Course meet she swam fast enough to get best times and also achieve the LC State qualifying standard which is very cool!

For those of you that are unaware, the Zones Meet is a large, prestigious and extremely competitive Regional USA Swim Meet.  In order to qualify for the meet, a swimmer must achieve a  AAA time standard.  At the Zone Meet, our swimmers will be part of Team Wisconsin and will compete this weekend against other states like Ilinois, Lake Erie, Michigan, Ohio, and The Ozarks.
