Vacancy Announcement - Off Season MAKOS Junior Assistant Coach

Off Season Swim Program Junior Assistant Coach Hiring Announcement

The Meadowbrook Woods MAKOS, a member of the Prince William Swim League, is seeking expressions of interest for Junior Assistant Coaches (JAC) for our off-season program (Sept 2019-May 2020). Ideal candidates must have a love for swimming and being a role model to younger swimmers in and out of the water. A limited number of positions are available.  Selected candidates will learn while working how to perform as a Junior Assistant Coach, and develop critical coaching and leadership skills.

Applicants must by at least 15 ½  years old (as of September 1, 2019) and registered as an active member MAKOS Swim Team during the 2019 summer season. Previous MAKOS coaching experience (including mini-volunteer) desired but not required.  Candidates must able to pass CPR certification.  Application deadline is Friday, August 16, 2019.

Applicants may apply by submitting (via email) a cover letter which provides their name, email and/or phone contact information and a summary description of their respective qualifications to: Eileen Rehrig at eileen.rehrig@gmail.com.  The Makos Board of Directors and Head Coach reserve the right to interview prospective candidates and determine final selections.

Not all coaches hired for this program will necessarily be hired as summer Junior Assistant Coaches; the decision related to summer positions will be based on staffing needs of the team (as determined by team registrations) and overall performance as a Junior Assistant Coach during the winter and any prior swim seasons.   Summer positions may be competed.

All JACs are supervised by the Head Coach and have a variety of duties. Roles and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
