RENO News - 8/5/19

Just a reminder that Reno Aquatic Club is on a two-week break. We will resume practices on Monday, August 19. I have emailed the fall schedules to the groups. If you did not receive this email, please contact me.

Reno Aquatic Club had OUTSTANDING performances at the High Country Championships and Senior Zones last week! The improvements the team has made has been very impressive, and we continue to move closer to being a premier swim team on the west coast. I will have a recap of both meets in the next week or so.

RENO still has two more swimmers competing this week, Addison Crain and Emma Karam.

Addison will be representing RENO and Pacific Swimming at the Western Zones Age Group All-Star Meet in Mt. Hood, Oregon. She is the only swimmer from Northern Nevada to be selected to this prestigious all-star team. Swim fast, Addison!

Emma will be competing at Junior Nationals in Stanford this week. Summer Junior Nationals is the fastest 18-under swim meet in the country -- maybe even the world. I’m confident there will be a handful of swimmers at this meet that will be representing Team USA at next year’s Olympics. Emma will be swimming the 200 backstroke and 400 IM on Wednesday and the 100 backstroke on Friday. She will also do a time trial on Tuesday and Thursday.

USA Swimming will be doing a live webcast of Junior Nationals. If you’d like to watch Emma compete, visit USA Swimming to watch her races.

I will be traveling to Stanford today, and I am unsure how much computer time I will have this week. I will do my best to reply to any emails in a timely matter.

I hope you and your swimmer enjoys the break from swimming. We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday, August 19.

Thank you!

Ryan
