This summer the Chinooks had four athletes travel to Victoria to compete in Provincial Champtionships and two athletes to Age Group Championships in Chilliwack. These swimmers are Eloise Allen, Noah Grant-Byrnes, Ava Hynd, Rory Scott and Genny Verge. This is an honour for these athletes as qualifying times are based on the fastest 50 swimmers in the province from the previous year must be achieved. Once at the competition, these athletes performed well achieving personal bests. Genny Verge competed in the Para category and returned to the coast with two silvers and two gold medals! Way to go Genny! Eloise Allen achieved a western time in her 100 BK with a time of 1:08.58. Ava hynd achieved a provincial long course time in her 100 Bk with a time of 1:15.00. Noah holds the chinook record for the club in 50 free with a time of 26.28. Rory Scott performed all best times but had his greatest gains, and set a new club record in 200 fly with a time of 2:45.35. We are so proud of all of these swimmers and their accomplishments over the season. All of the Chinook athletes have had an incredible year and we are so proud of your progress. Looking forward to seeing you all in September!
