Week 1 - Forming Great Habits

Happy Sunday  Bengal Familes! 

We're here! It was so fun to meet so many new familes and of course see all of our returning families! We are ready for another great season! 

Our theme this week is  Forming Great Habits. A new season is a fresh start that allows us to create new habits, reinforce great habits and learn new habits that will lead to success this season.

There are great habits athletes can do outside of the pool including atheltes getting at least 8 hours of sleep, stretching before and after practice, drinking water throughout the day and setting their school routines NOW so they are ready for school to start! There are also great habits in the pool like being prepared for practice, being a great teammate, staying focused in the water and ensuring the small details are excellent. 

It takes roughly 21 days to form a habit and we want to make sure that from the start, we are forming GREAT habits that drive success. We also want to eliminate habits that may detract from success. Habits like staying up late, eating unhealthy foods and ignoring the details like tight stramline, pointing toes and finishing all the way to the wall may . Forming Great Habits seems small today but pays dividens at the end of the season! Habits are the things our brains don't have to spend energy thinking about so forming the RIGHT habits will be our focus this week! It's important to start the season off right with forming great habits that will carry throughout the season.  I am getting up at 5:30 every day so I can work out every day we have practice. I want to start now so its a habit by the time we are in the busy part of our season. 

What are Great Habits you're glad you have formed? What are Great Habits you'd like to start? What habits positively impacted you in the long term? Ask you're kids after practices this week what habits they are forming :)


Parents Meeting  Tuesday, 13th @ 5pm - We will have a parents for ALL parents (new and old) on Tuesday at 5pm at Northdale! We will have season updates, you will meet other parents and set expectations for the season. 

Registration - Please make sure you're registered ahead of tomorrows practice at 3pm! 

Clothing - Here is the team store website! - Clothing is not required to the season. The store will close in 7 days! 

Suit Orders - Please order suits by Friday so we can get them back sooner rather then later! 

Zen with Jen - On Fridays we spend time decompressing, stretching and getting the kinks out with Fitness Yoga and keeping our focus of the week. Athletes should have shorts and a t-shirt or workout clothes.

Thursday - Practice 3:00 - 5:30 Varsity 5:30 - 6:00pm
Friday - Practice 3:00 - 5:00 JV Zen with Jen 5:00 - 5:30 Varsity Zen with Jen 5:30 - 6:00pm
Saturday - Practice 7:30 - 9:30am ALL Athletes who are able to attend!
