Aquazot Swimmers are fast at Futures!
**Krolikowski wins women’s high point award**
Aquazot sent four girls to the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Gresham, Oregon last week. Karsyn Cook, Kathryn Krolikowski, Mirabella LeVine, and Michelle Tekawy traveled from Orange County to Oregon to compete with some of the best swimmers from the western United States.
Highlighting the results for Aquazot was the outstanding swimming of Kate Krolikowski. She was crowned Futures champion in three events: the 200 Fly (2:15.26), 200 IM (2:19.20), and the 400 IM (4:54.36). All of Kate’s times in these events are just off the 2020 Olympic Trials qualifying times, which is sure to give Kate confidence that she can achieve those times during the next year.
Kate also finished 2nd in the 200 Freestyle, with a great time of 2:03.75. Kate scored 77 total points for her efforts, which earned her the women’s high point award for the meet!
Michelle Tekawy also posted 3 top-16 results at Futures for Aquazot in her events. In both the 200 IM (2:23.46) and the 400 IM (5:05.41) Michelle finished in 13th place, and added a 16th place finish in the 200 Breast (2:42.85p).
Karsyn Cook had great results in her sprint freestyle events, with a best time of 27.61 in the 50 Free, and a huge drop of almost 2 seconds for a time of 58.91 in the 100 Free.
Mirabella LeVine competed in three events at Futures, and posted a new lifetime best time in the 200 IM of 2:32.62.
All four of the Azot women combined to swim the 400 Medley Relay, and finished with a very good time of 4:30.74.
Overall, Aquazot placed 12th out of over 80 teams entered in the meet. Congratulations to our Azot ladies on a great Futures Champs meet!
