FINA World Jr. National Championships

Congratulations to Wyatt Davis and Jake Mitchell on their outstanding swims while representing Team USA at the FINA World Junior Championships in Budapest, Hungary. The meet wrapped up on Sunday with Wyatt winning a gold medal in the 200m backstroke in 1:58.18. Along with his gold medal swim on Sunday, Wyatt hauled in another five medals at the meet: GOLD – 400m mixed medley relay (prelims swim), 800m free relay (prelims swim); SILVER – 400m medley relay (prelims swim), 50 backstroke; BRONZE – 100 backstroke.  

Jake was on the Jr. World record setting 800m free relay, which earned him a gold medal. Jake turned in a personal best relay split of 1:47.03. Jake also finished 4th in the 400m free, 7th in the 800m free and 7th in the 1500m free. Jake’s time of 3:47.95 in the 400m freestyle is the fastest time ever by a 17 year old American.
