Westfield Area YMCA Devilfish Break Records at Long Course Nationals

More records fall at long course nationals.

The Westfield Area YMCA was represented by seven of its top swimmers at Long Course Nationals held at the Eppley Recreation Center in College Park, Maryland from July 30 through Aug. 3.  Four individual records were broken as well as five relay records. In addition, congratulations go out to Abby McKinney for making finals in the 50 fly!

Abby McKinney (50 fly – 29.25); Bridget Thomas (800 free – 9:25.99, 1500 free – 17:56.24).  Additionally, in time trials, Sofia Leonetti broke the 200 breast record with a 2:55.72. The relay team of Abby McKinney, Julia McGann, Lauren Lane and Bridget Thomas set three relay records (200 free - 1:54.01, 400 free - 4:08.69, 800 free - 8:58.29). The relay team of Lauren Lane, Sofia Leonetti, Abby McKinney and Bridget Thomas set the 200 medley relay record with a time of 2:07.28 and the team of Julia McGann, Sofia Leonetti, Abby McKinney and Bridget Thomas set the 400 medley relay record with a time of 4:39.60.

Individual events were swum by Henry Brown (50 free); Viv Jeckell (50 free); Lauren Lane (50, 100 & 200 back); Julia McGann (50 & 200 back); Abby McKinney (100 & 200 free, 50 & 100 fly, 200 IM); Bridget Thomas (100, 200, 400, 800 & 1500 free).
