Below is information regarding Y-Offcial Certification!  Please consider becoming an Official!  Our Y-League desperately needs more Officials!  If you decide to become an Official, save your receipt and you will be reimbursed by the team!  Thank you!

 

Swim Official Level 1 class will be on Wednesday October 2nd from 5:30pm-9:00pm - $50.00- at YMCA of Greater Westfield 67 Court Street Westfield, MA 01085

New candidates for certification as a YMCA Level I Official must be at least 21 years old and be associated with a local YMCA sponsored swim team.

USA-S Certified Officials who meet age and participation requirements for Level II may go directly into Level II without first becoming a Level I Certified Official.

Candidates for re-certification must have worked at least 12 sessions as a YMCA certified official over the prior three-year certification period and present a completed Record of Meet Experience form evidencing such sessions worked.

This Level 1 Y-Clinic can also be used to satisfy the USA-S/NE swimming clinic requirement for Stroke & Turn certification/recertification. If you want this training to count toward USA-S officials certification you will also need to:

·          Take and pass the appropriate USA-swim on-line test

·          Register with NE Swimming

·          Fulfill both background check and athlete protection training

Swim Official Level 2 class will be on Wednesday October 9th from 5:30pm-9:00pm - $50.00- at YMCA of Greater Westfield 67 Court Street Westfield, MA 01085          

New candidates for certification as a YMCA Level II Official must have been a fully Certified YMCA Level I Official for at least one year, have worked a minimum of eight sessions as a YMCA Certified Official and present a completed Record of Meet Experience form evidencing such sessions worked. In addition, as with Level I officials, the candidate must be at least 21 years old and be associated with a local YMCA sponsored swim team.

USA-S Certified Officials who meet age and participation requirements for Level II may go directly into Level II without first becoming a Level I Certified Official.

This level 2 Y-Clinic can also be used to satisfy the USA-S/NE swimming clinic requirement for Starter certification/recertification. (must have been a USA-S stroke & turn official for at least 2 years and have worked 16 sessions)  

The classes are posted and open for enrollment in the Learning & Career Development Center(LCDC) on  yexchange.org.  All participants who wantYMCA certification must register for class through LCDC on yexchange which requires them to first set up their own LCDC profile.
