What’s Next?

 

Short Course Meters Season: Fitness/ Aerobic Base/Technique (Sept. - Dec.)


We primarily train competitive/fitness swimming with the climax of the season being the SPMA Regional SCM Championship Meet Friday, December 6 – Sunday, December 8, and for the fitness swimmer completing the USMS Postal One-Hour Swim.

We train all systems with focus on aerobic endurance, pacing, and vo2 with a focus on flip turns, and stroke technique.

Our first SCM meet will be at Mission on Sunday, October 6.  Please save the date and plan on swimming at this meet.


SWIM TIPS FOR SUCCESS


One of the ways that you can get better and make your aerobic work harder without having to go faster is to breathe every three strokes.  Such a simple, basic concept makes it more aerobically challenging.

Breathing bilaterally will help you even out those muscle imbalances, improve aerobic capacity, and help you develop better breath control.  (it also reduces shoulder injuries)

 

Workout goals every day!

1.  Breathe every three strokes and extend your underwaters.

2.  Practice doing three strokes off every wall without a breath or five fly kicks and three strokes without a breath.
