This is an important update on swimmer eligibility for Championship meets this winter. Our YCO League requirement is TWO (2) YMCA meets to participate in our League Championships, however, the YMCA Great Lakes ZONE Championship and YMCA Nationals requirement has not changed. Swimmers that qualify for Zones or Nationals will need additional meets to be eligible to participate. This is advance notice for swimmers, especially high school swimmers, who will need an extra meet to participate in Zones or Nationals.
Here is clarification of swimmer eligibility for YMCA Championship meets:
YCO League Championships (TBD): Swimmers must participate in TWO (2) YMCA meets to be eligible for League Champs (and to receive priority registration next season).
YMCA Great Lakes Zone Championship (Canton, OH): Swimmers are required to participate in THREE (3) YMCA meets to be eligible to compete at Zones.
YMCA Nationals (Greensboro, NC): Swimmers are required to participate in THREE (3) YMCA meets PLUS a Championship meet to be eligible to compete at Nationals. The Championship meet includes the YCO League Championship or the Great Lakes Zone Championship (Zones).
