Seven members of the Barracuda Swim Club of Northeast Tennessee were named to the 2018-2019 Southeastern Swimming All-Star Team. In order to qualify, a swimmer must have ranked in the top five in an event during either the 2018 Winter Season or the 2019 Summer Season. The Southeastern Region encompasses all of Tennessee, all of Alabama, and the panhandle of Florida. The swimmers come from several communities in the area, including Greenville, Johnson City, and Kingsport.
Qualifying for the Winter All-Start team were: Jean-Pierre “JP” Hennaux, Eli Lipscomb, Josh Slap, Matthew Potter, Dustin Niebauer, Zach Anguish, and Cassie Lowe. Summer Season All-Stars were: Josh Slap, Matthew Potter, Dustin Niebauer, and Zach Anguish.
“There are over 8,000 USA Swimming athletes in the Southeastern Region,” stated head coach Chris Coraggio. “To rank in the top five in one’s age group is certainly a major accomplishment. We are very proud of the effort and dedication that our swimmers demonstrated which helped them achieve these awards.”
