October News

MAC Athletes and Parents

I couldn't be more excited with this past month.  We had two great swim meets.  We had 41 swimmers at our first dual meet!  We had a lot of new time standards achieved, and our first state qualifying time for the season!  For newer parents, a "Time Standard" is a way of measuring your performance against the rest of the country.  USA swimming collects all the times from all the swim meets, and uses those to come up with the morivational time standards.  They are updated every year to reflect the most current times.  Starting with a "B" time, it then goes "BB", "A", "AA", "AAA", "AAAA".  Every new time standard represents you moving up to the next tier of athlete.  It's a big deal!  Congratulations to all those who achieved new time standards this past month.  You can see the complete list in our newsletter.

We have some great opportunities for volunteering coming up.  First, we have our Halloween party on October 29th.  We will need parents to judge the costumes, hand out prizes, and parents to organize and set-up the dinner.

Second is our Thanksgiving Invitational and Mini-Meet.  All this information is on the newsletter, but I wanted to echo it here.  This is our biggest meet of the year and we need ALOT of help and support from the parents.  There are many ways you can help support out team.

Please check out the job-signup page underneath each event and find a way you can help support our great program and our amazing athletes!

We weren't able to find a team for a dual meet in October.  So instead, we will be competing in the Wayne Oviatt Memorial.  It is a one day swim meet, similar to our dual meets.  Please consider this in place of our October dual meet and let's try to get as many swimmers signed up as possible!

Please pick up and check out the Calendar and Newsletter the next time you are at the pool for the complete information for this upcoming month.

Thank you all for all your support!  GO MAC!!
