DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME

Don't forget to turn back your clocks 1 hour this Saturday night for Sunday.  We all get an extra hour of sleep!

Keep this change in mind with all of the Sunday swimming activities planned.

PRACTICE CHANGES

There will be no practices for any group at any location on Thursday, October 31, for Halloween.  Have fun trick-or-treating!

The Junior National group will have no practices on Saturday or Sunday, November 2-3, due to the swim meet.

There will be no Developmental practice at the University of Delaware on Saturday, November 2, due to a UD Club Swimming meet.  Developmental swimmers should utilize the normal practice on Saturday at New Castle from 4:00-5:00 PM.

Looking forward, there will be practice changes for some groups on Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10, due to the team-hosted meets.  Practice changes for the weekend of November 9-10 will be in next Wednesday's team email.

NAG TEAM CHALLENGE

The NAG Team Challenge is this weekend, November 2-3.

After originally announcing in last week's email that Delaware Swim Team was required to provide 3 timers per session, as per the meet announcement, we received updated information last Thursday.  Delaware Swim Team now only has to provide 1 timer per session.  The administrative staff has asked RMSC to put our second timers for each morning session, who are already registered with DST to volunteer, to work for those sessions.  We are waiting to hear back from RMSC with confirmation on this.  People who signed up on the meet page in good faith to time will be awarded volunteer points.

FIRST STATE CUP

The First State Cup is November 9-10.

This is the only meet for families with just Senior National swimmers to earn volunteer points at a meet where the swimmer is participating.  With this in mind, Senior National families should be volunteering at all First State Cup sessions, in order to provide the necessary coverage to run this meet smoothly.  Volunteer positions for the First State Cup will open tonight, October 30, at 9:00 PM.

FIRST STATE MINI CUP

The First State Mini Cup is Saturday, November 9.  This meet is for all 8 & under swimmers, and the deadline to register has passed.

Volunteer positions for the First State Mini Cup will open tonight, October 30, at 9:00 PM.

This meet will have relays.  Relays will be decided by the coaching staff on the day of the meet.

ODDBALL CHALLENGE

Delaware Swim Team is attending the Oddball Challenge on November 23-24 in Laurel, Maryland (between Baltimore and the Capital Beltway).

This meet is both an A/BB/C meet and mini meet (down to 6 years old).  The deadline to sign up is Monday, November 11.  This is a hard deadline, since the team must submit entries the next day.

TRICK OR TREAT AT PIKE CREEK FACILITY

Don't forget about the trick-or-treating organized by the D-Fit (formerly Delaware Swim & Fitness Center) staff at the Pike Creek facility today!  The trick-or-treating will be from 3:00-6:00 PM.  This event is open to all kids: swimmers and non-swimmers alike.  Costumes are not needed, either.  Feel free to attend and bring friends!  More information is available here.

DST FLYERS NIGHT

Delaware Swim Team is attending the Philadelphia Flyers game on Thursday, January 16.  You can sign up to attend the game here.  The deadline to sign up is January 10, so there is plenty of time.

Swimmers who sign up for tickets through Delaware Swim Team will get a Flyers Gritty swim cap.

Thanks,
The Delaware Swim Team coaching staff
