PAC Meet report
Wow team – 100% of our swimmers achieved at least one personal best time this past weekend in Portland. Well done athletes!
Special congratulations to our event winners – Skyla led the team not in with her leadership in warm ups, but in placing first in three events - the 400 IM, 500 free and 100 fly and had a personal best in the 50 free; Willow was a double event winner in both the 200 IM and 100 fly and swam to 2 best times; and William came out first in the 50 backstroke and dropped time in 3 events. Well done leaders!
Special shout out also to Katie for competing in her first ever swim meet! She competed in both the 25 free and 25 backstroke, and had a smile on her face the whole way.
Leah and Andrea both swam to personal bests in all 6 of their events. WOW! Leah had a whopping 9 second drop in her 50 fly and Andrea dropped 8 seconds in her 100 breaststroke.
Four best times at the meet was the lucky number for Oceana, Gavin and Emma. A few highlights for this group - Oceana dropped 7 seconds in her 50 fly – Gavin dropped nearly 5 seconds in his 500 free to sneak under 6:00 in the 500 free this time with a 5:59.9! - and Emma took a whopping 9 seconds off in her 100 fly!
Lucas and Eiler swam to three best times. Lucas also dropped over 10 seconds off his 50 breaststroke, and Eiler knocked 7 seconds off that same event. WOW!
Everyone else swam to 1 or 2 personal best times, and each had a special event that stood out. Max dropped 4 seconds in his 50 fly – Michelle took over 4 seconds off in the 200 back – Finnegan also had a 4 second drop, but his was in the 50 breaststroke – Zoe had a huge 8 second drop in the 100 free – Savannah improved 7 seconds in her 50 backstroke – and Francisco took over 5 seconds off in his 50 freestyle!
Next up for us is the Astoria Fall Chinook Open.
