Albatross Mega Swim:

It is time for our annual KISU ALBATROSS Fundraiser

Proceeds from the fundraiser help us keep swimming affordable for all members as we aim to keep our membership fees as low as possible, as well as designating some funds to the KISU Angelfish program which offers financial assistance to families who would otherwise not be able to participate in the sport of swimming.

Event Information: This year's event will be taking place on Friday, November 29th. Juniors up to Academy swimmers will spend up to 2 hours trying to complete a 5km swim to honour the donations of their supporters.  These swimmers should prepare to be at the pool from 3:15-7:30 in order to help count laps for the other swimmers when they are not having their turn.  Mini Squad swimmers will swim a modified "distance swim" during their practice earlier in the week, seeing how far they can get in 45 minutes. More details for swimmers will come from their coaches closer to the event as well as email and facebook reminders.

Fundraising:  Each swimmer in the club is encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 towards our goal. Academy swimmers are encouraged to raise at least $200. We ask that swimmers share about our fundraiser with family, friends and neighbours. When logging into your fundraising account on the KISU teamunify’s website, you will be able to personalize your swimmer's profile and then send that personalized link out through email or social media. Online donations can be made through the website with a credit card or cash and cheque donations should be collected by the swimmer using the attached donor form. These donations, along with the form, can be dropped off in the KISU dropbox on the pool deck by the date of the Albatross.

Fundraising Rewards: To thank swimmers for their work in our fundraising efforts, we will have a number of prizes along the way:

1. Every swimmer raising a minimum of $100 will receive an ALBATROSS MEGASWIM swim cap.

2. For each $100 raised, swimmers will receive an entry for draw prizes on the day of the Albatross.

3. We will serve pizza and drinks following the Megaswim on November 29th  Mini Squad swimmers are welcome to join us for supper and prize draws on that day!

We look forward to another great Albatross swim. It is always a memorable event for a great cause. If you are interested in helping run any aspect of the event or if you have additional prizes that could be used in our draws,  please contact Lisa at president@kisu.ca

Thank you for your ongoing support of KISU!
