The Killarney Swim Club has kicked off the competitive season with 3 back to back to back competitions.
The team opened the season in Lethbridge at the LASC Invite, October 19th and 20th. Eighty-seven swimmers represented Killarney at this competition. Killarney swimmers took to the podium 82 times s including 23 Gold. An outstanding 417 personal best times were achieved.
Cascade Swim Club hosted the Speed Meet on the last weekend of October. Thirty-Four swimmers from KSC took to the waters at Repsol. Killarney won 9 medals. Daniel Ford took Gold in the 200 BK with a gutsy effort leading the field from the start. Ford also claimed Bronze in the 50 Breast. Paul Dardis won Bronze in the 400 Free. Holden Gould Bronze in the 50 Breast. Avery Mitchell won Silver in the 50 Fly and Bronze in the 50 Back. Balazs Moldovan earned bronze in the 50 Free. Jaxon Wolff rounded out the medal count with a bronze in the 50 Fly. The team finished with 122 personal best times.
Last weekend the team was in action out in Okotoks for the MAV’s Jack Frost Competition. Killarney had a contingent of 59 swimmers. Two hundred and eighty-eight best times were achieved. KSC swimmers hit the podium 82 times including 30 gold.
Alan Piatek broke the 10 & under 100 IM Club Record with a time of 1:22. The old record was held by Brodie Smith 1:24.
It has been an impressive start for Killarney swimmers. The team will play host to over 500 swimmers on the November 15-17 weekend.
