INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
If snow or other weather activity causes schools in the area to shut down or delay the start of classes, the following Inclement Weather Policy has been established for the Barracuda Swim Club.
MORNING PRACTICES: If the local school system cancels or delays the start of classes prior to the start time of morning practice, then that morning's practice will be cancelled. If the cancellation/delay is announced after the start of morning practice, then we are already there and can finish the practice. Note: The "local school system" for the Johnson City site is the Johnson City School District (not the Washington County School District); The "local school system" for the Kingsport site is the Kingsport City School District (not the Sullivan County School District).
AFTERNOON PRACTICES: The coaches at each site will endeavor to hold afternoon practices, weather permitting. They will contact the appropriate pool personnel (JC Parks and Rec, KAC) to determine if and when we can get into the pool in the afternoon. When possible, notices will be posted on the team website, an email will be sent out, and a text message will be sent via the Remind app from the coaches.
To get yourself set up to receive text messages and/or emails via the Remind app, go to the following page on the BSC website: https://www.teamunify.com/SubTabGeneric.jsp?team=sebarsc&_stabid_=189255
Safety: If road conditions in you locale make it dangerous to get to practice, stay home. While we admire dedication, it is not worth risking one's life to not miss a practice.
