Hello Big Fish 2019

Hello Big Fish!

It has been a while since we have had a newsletter here on the website. We are going to be revamping this piece of our website to keep everybody updated and informed on the new and exciting things our athletes are doing here at WFFM!

As we move into the New Year, we would like to share some highlights from our 2019 seasons. Our senior group took second overall at SC Senior State back in February 2019,  right before heading into our Sectionals meet. This year, the Sectional meet was held in Arizona and was pretty tough overall. Our athletes had a lot of adversity thrown their way, and though they may not have all had their best swims, we came out stronger as a team. Coach Ron tweaked some things in his training regimen, which allowed the group to shine at the LC State Champs and Senior Zones in July where Alex Cromar got his first Junior National cut in his 50 free and Emma Walker took 1st in her 200 breaststroke.

Our age group program took 2nd overall in March, and came back with a 1st place win in July. We had many swimmers get best times, with our 11-12 boys breaking the state record in the 200 Free Relay.

We have added two new coaches to our staff, Ellie Brinton and Gabby Ruiz who are both coaching at our Treehouse location. If you’d like to learn more about them and all our other coaches, we have a “coaches” tab on our home page with all of our bios!

As 2019 comes to a close, we are all really looking forward to what is to come in 2020!

GO BIG FISH!
