Fast and Furious Swims at 2019 Senior Championships Meet

 

OHYA senior swimmers swam fast and furious at this past weekend’s 2019 Tim Myers Short Course Senior Championships at Miami University.  New cuts were made, records were broken, personal bests were achieved.  All of our senior swimmers who participated in this meet should be very proud of themselves.

Congratulations to PETAL SLOAN for achieving her very first SECTIONAL cut in the Womens 50 Free with a time of 24.82.  PETAL also got a new JO cut in the Womens 100 Fly (1.02.08) and broke 3 TEAM RECORDS in the 13-14 age group:  50 Fly (27.71), 200 Free (2.02.59), 50 Back (29.68).

Congratulations to OWEN PELZER for achieving 2 new cuts: a FUTURES cut in the Mens 100 Breast with a time of 58.61 and a SECTIONAL cut in the 200 Fly with a time of 1.55.36. OWEN also broke 5 TEAM RECORDS in the 15-18 age group:  100 Free (47.58), 100 Breast (58.61), 200 Fly (1.55.36), 50 Back (23.21), and 100 Fly (51.33).

Congratulations to BRIAN RIDNER for achieving SECTIONAL cuts in Mens 100 Breast (1.01.48) and Mens 100 Back (54.49).  BRIAN also broke the Boys 15-18 TEAM RECORD in the 50 Breast with a time of 28.79.

Congratulations to GAVIN SCHULZE for swimming a SECTIONAL cut in the Mens 50 Free with a time of 22.26. GAVIN also broke the Boys 15-18 TEAM RECORD in the 50 Fly (24.20).

Congratulations to MAX BRUNNER for swimming a ZONE cut in the Mens 100 Free (51.50).  MAX also swam a new JO cut in the Mens 100 Fly with a time of 58.70 and broke 2 TEAM RECORDS:  100 Free and 200 Free (1.52.59).  It should be noted that the old Boys 13-14 100 Free record dates back to 1999 (20 years old)!

Congratulations to CADE GRIMMETT for achieving a SECTIONAL cut in the Mens 200 Fly with a time of 1.58.31. CADE also set a new TEAM RECORD in the Boys 15-18 200 Back (2.00.05).

Congratulations to Alex Zagorianos, Jack Hart, Samantha Gerde, and Tess Fightmaster for achieving Personal Best times and/or qualifying for finals at this highly competitive meet!
